 About us  Minimize

Cheltenham Animal Shelter is a charity that has been helping animals since the 1930's. We provide kennelling for stray dogs from three councils: Gloucester City, Tewkesbury Borough and Cheltenham Borough. We also take in dogs from Gloucestershire Constabulary as well as re-homing animals from owners who can no longer look after them for a variety of reasons.

The mission of Gloucestershire Animal Welfare Association and Cheltenham Animal Shelter is to provide shelter for homeless domestic animals from across the county whilst attempting to locate appropriate new homes. We also aim to educate members of the public and professionals in correct and appropriate animal husbandry through humane education programmes.

We are a member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Home and we adhere to, and exceed, their code of practice. In doing that we are very careful to ensure that each and every animal goes to the right home.

Kane is an adorable pure breed Staffordshire Terrier who we think is around two years old. He loves toys and will do anything for a treat!

As a Charity we are dependent on donations to help us look after the 1500 dogs, cats and small animals which pass through our gates each year.

With no Government support we rely on the generosity of members of the public.

Please give generously.
