Animal Days
Our Animal Days programme gives young people aged 6 – 15 years a chance to attend the shelter during the school holidays to learn about responsible pet ownership and other animal related issues.

Animal Days give children the opportunity to gain some hands on experience with companion animals. The children get to assist with cleaning the small animal enclosures (rabbits/guinea pig), small animal handling, dog walking and grooming, cat fussing etc. amongst other things.

A typical Animal Day runs from 9am to 3pm and costs £30.

We also offer Animal Experience days which run from 9am to 12noon or 1pm – 4pm and cost £15.

*Additional sessions can also be arranged for homeschooled children, during normal term time.

NEW FOR 2016:
We will be offering additional Animal Days, specifically for 12-15 year olds. This will follow the normal format of an Animal Day but are designed to give a further insight into duties undertaken at Cheltenham Animal Shelter.
