Many of you will remember Bear from the desperate plea earlier in the year to help us fund a vital emergency operation to save this big softy’s eyesight – See the story here

We are pleased to announce that the appeal was a success, our wonderful supporters came to Bear’s rescue and after a long road to recovery Bear was signed off by the vet as fit and healthy and with his sight saved!

The story gets even better, as we were really worried about Bear and the amount of time he’d spent in kennels as a result of all his medical needs. We needed to find him a home as soon as possible…and that’s when Laurie stepped in. She’d been watching our website and had seen Bear’s story. She actually approached a member of staff on the bus one morning on their way to work and asked after him, learned he was still available and popped down to the Shelter to meet him. It was love at first sight, Bear was reserved straight away and Laurie came to visit him lots ahead of rehoming day.

Bear has now gone to his forever home and Laurie has been sending us lots of photos of this brave battler finally enjoying himself, he certainly looks like he’s settled in well! We’re really pleased to get such a great outcome for this beautiful boy, and couldn’t wish for a better home for him than with Laurie. Go well Bear, you deserve it!. xx
