Pudding is a big-hearted girl with an even bigger personality once she feels settled. She’s looking for a special someone who can give her the understanding and patience she needs to feel truly at home. She’s very anxious around strangers and can be reactive when seeing unfamiliar people, whether at a distance or up close. However, with slow introductions and the right approach, she does warm up fairly quickly. Once you’re in her circle of trust, she’s an absolute cuddle monster who loves nothing more than climbing into your lap and showering you with affection. She’s incredibly loyal, bonds deeply, and will be a true Velcro dog, happiest when she’s right by your side.
Because of her sensitivity, Pudding needs an adult-only home with an experienced owner who understands body language and can help her navigate the world with confidence. She’s not a fan of other animals and would need to be the only pet in the home. While she did show some curiosity during her stuffed dog test, she becomes very tense and fixated when she sees real dogs, so she won’t be comfortable with doggy playdates or sharing her space.
Pudding is strong on the lead and full of energy when she’s feeling playful, she loves to zoom around and leap into your space with pure joy, totally unaware of her size. Treats are her absolute favourite, which makes training and introductions much easier, as she’s always motivated by a tasty snack. A quiet, calm household in a peaceful area will be ideal for her, with walking routes that offer enough space to avoid close contact with other dogs or people.
A secure garden is essential for her to have a safe, enclosed space where she can relax and explore without stress. She’s also shown signs of separation anxiety when left alone, so she’ll need someone who can be with her most of the time, especially while she adjusts to her new environment.
Pudding is a sensitive girl with so much love to give, she just needs someone who can meet her where she is and help her blossom into the confident companion she’s meant to be.
