Lurcher, age 1 year 9 months
Tetley arrived at the Shelter as a stray in September 2024.
Life hasn’t always been kind to Tetley and because of that, he’s a little wary of the world – but with the right person, he has the potential to truly blossom.
Tetley is incredibly playful and has a real soft spot for toys – especially tennis balls! He loves bringing them to you and placing them carefully in your lap, hoping you’ll join in on the fun. It’s one of the ways he bonds, and it’s a joy to see. He’s also a big fan of food-based enrichment, like snuffle mats and puzzle feeders. Not only do they keep his clever mind busy, but scent work helps him feel more confident and comfortable in his surroundings.
Since arriving at the Shelter, he has made great strides in his training. He is now more confident around new people and will walk happily with a harness and muzzle. Tetley enjoys enrichment activities like snuffle mats and puzzle feeders, and loves putting his powerful nose to work in a game of ‘find-it’.
Tetley is partial to a snack and enjoys playing with his favourite toys in the sunshine. Once he has finished seeing off the cheeky birds who have landed in our paddock, he happily settles down for some affection from his favourite people.
He may need a little extra time, but he’s worth every moment. With patience, kindness, and a quiet home full of love, he will be a wonderful companion for someone who sees the beauty in a sensitive soul.

He is very cuddly once he is comfortable with you and will nudge you for more if he thinks you’re slacking.

When he goes back into his kennel he will nudge his bowl to make sure I haven’t fogotten its food time!
What do you like most about Tetley?
Tetley is very loving and affectionate. He’s always happy and enthusiastic to see his carers but sometimes forgets his own size.
