We are incredibly proud to have been chosen as one of the 12 winners of a No Child Left Behind award at last week’s ceremony at Cheltenham Town Hall!
Our HALT (Humans and Animals Learning Together) Project won the #InspriringLearning category ‘supporting children and young people to develop a love of learning’, sponsored by Hartpury University and College.
Education Team members Debbie Morgan, Kerys Carter and Danielle Perry went along to accept the award with Community Engagement Officer, Erica Landon, who has been involved with running some of the courses. Education Officer, Debbie Morgan, said:
“we are honoured to have been selected for this prestigious award and are delighted that our commitment to helping young people through the HALT Project has been so well received”.
The event is an annual celebration of the many organisations and projects which support local children and families and was once again held in association with Punchline-Gloucester.com.
Over 300 guests – including families and children – attended to celebrate the achievements of Cheltenham’s organisations who work towards long-term change, addressing inequalities and offering support.
The awards showcased all the exceptional and inspirational work that is making a real difference to Cheltenham’s children, young people and their families facing challenges.
Awards covered a wide range of issues, including family support and physical and mental health, with six new categories ranging from inclusivity, environmental projects, digital innovation and business support.
Exciting and inclusive music performances were given by Oakwood Primary School samba band and Belmont School choir. Guests also enjoyed a fun zone of games and activities, provided by All About Fun UK.com.
