Be a part of our story

We would love to hear your stories and memories of the Shelter to form part of our 100 years celebrations

Share your memories

In 2026, Cheltenham Animal Shelter will be proudly celebrating 100 years of caring for vulnerable animals, and we’d love you to be part of our story.

Over the decades, thousands of animals have passed through our doors – from our very early days in Cheltenham, to when we moved to Gardners Lane in the late 1930’s, to the Shelter you know today.

If you, your parents, grandparents, other family members and friends have memories or stories about the Shelter, we would love to hear them.

You may have a story that has been passed down from the 1930s, during the war years, or any decade after. It could be a memory of our buildings or facilities, the kind of animals we have cared for over the years, an event you attended as a child, a pet you adopted, or maybe we helped you when circumstances were difficult.

Please share your memory or story in the box below – and if you have a photo to go with it, we’d be thrilled if you could upload that too.
