Loose Lead 1-2-1 Workshop
Does your dog take you for a walk? Are your arms in need of a break? If your dog pulls on the lead making walks more challenging our behaviour team are happy to offer advice on one of our Loose Lead Walking Workshops hosted here at Cheltenham Animal Shelter. You will learn practical, reward-based techniques to make walks more enjoyable for both you and your dog.
This workshop is delivered as a one-to-one session lasting 30 minutes, tailored to your dog’s individual needs. You are welcome to arrive up to five minutes before your allocated time to allow your dog to settle into the environment. You will also receive an information pack, including a special offer on one-to-one consultations with our behaviourist should you wish to access further support.
Scent Games 1-2-1 Workshop
Are you looking for a fun way to bond and spend time with your dog? Come and join us for one of our Scent Games workshops!
Hosted by our canine behavioural experts, our scent games sessions will really get your dog’s brain working by using their most important sense – smell!
Incorporating ‘Find it’ games and enriching nose work, as well as fun activities that you and all the family can do at home, this session can help to make your dog feel more relaxed and content as a result.
So, what do scent games help with?
- Calming – scenting helps to calm a dog.
- Mental Stimulation – scenting and searching for food tires a dog’s brain.
- To refocus a behaviour – if the dog is about to engage in something we don’t want to occur – scent games are a great refocusing tool that teaches the dog a more positive behaviour to display.
- Confidence – an easy to learn training tool!
The workshop is a 1-2-1 session for you and your dog to attend, and each session will run for 45 minutes, however, you can attend 5 minutes prior to your tickets time to help settle your dog into their new environment.
This workshop is suitable for dogs of all ages from 6 months upwards. To get the most out of the session and ensure this is an enjoyable experience for your dog, we advise dogs attending are motivated by food and comfortable meeting our Behaviourists.
