100 Years Ceilidh Dance

Celebration Ceilidh – 100 Years of Cheltenham Animal Shelter

Friday 5th June, 7pm at Bishops Cleeve Tithe Barn

Join us for an evening of music, dancing and celebration as we mark a very special milestone – 100 years of Cheltenham Animal Shelter – with a traditional Gaelic ceilidh dance in the beautiful Tithe Barn, Bishop’s Cleeve.

Set in this stunning historic venue, the dance promises a high-energy, feel-good night full of laughter, community spirit and brilliant live music. Whether you’re a dab hand or have never tried a ceilidh before, this is an event for everyone.

A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a traditional social dance featuring spirited live music and simple group dances performed in lines, circles or couples. No experience is needed at all – the emphasis is on fun rather than fancy footwork, and you’ll be guided every step of the way.

Providing the soundtrack to the evening is the fantastic Ceilidh Tree, a much-loved band renowned for their excellent musicianship. Their experienced caller will clearly talk you through each dance before and during the music, making it easy for beginners and seasoned dancers alike to jump in and enjoy themselves.

Alongside two energetic sets of dancing, guests can enjoy a cold buffet at the halfway point and make use of a card-payment bar throughout the evening.

Whether you come with friends, family or on your own, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Expect to leave smiling, slightly out of breath, and full of great memories – all while supporting the animals in our care during our centenary year.

Tickets are on sale now for £45.
