Welcome to Cheltenham Animal Shelter’s Winter Photo Pet Show!
Whether your pet is cute, quirky, cuddly, or full of character, this is their moment to shine! Our online competition is open to all pets, big or small, so grab your camera and capture their best winter look.
From cosy jumpers to festive costumes and heartwarming poses, we can’t wait to see what makes your pet so special.
Every entry helps raise vital funds for the animals in our care — so strike a pose and let the Winter Pet Show begin!
How it works
Sign up for the Photo Pet Show using the form at the bottom of this page and choose the classes you’d like to enter.
If your pet fits the criteria of more than one class, then you can enter as many classes as you like! Submit one photo per class entered of your pet showcasing their unique charm and beauty.
Once registration closes at midnight on Sunday 28th December our expert panel will then carefully review each entry based on class criteria. Winning entries will be shared on our website and social media with owners invited to collect a pet goodie bag from the Shelter.

This special class celebrates the incredible bond between pets and their people through heartwarming tales of love, resilience, and companionship. Whether your pet came into your life when you needed them most, helped you through tough times, or you offered them a much-deserved second chance, Best Winter’s Tail is all about those unforgettable stories that show how deeply our lives are intertwined with our animals.
We’d love to hear how your furry, feathered, or scaly friend became part of your family — and the difference they’ve made since. Has your pet brought comfort, laughter, or a reason to smile each day? Maybe you’ve helped them overcome a difficult start and shown them what a true forever home feels like.
Best Christmas Cracker
Get ready to giggle! This class celebrates the funniest, silliest, and most entertaining moments our pets bring into our lives. From comical poses and mischievous antics to those perfectly timed photos that make you laugh out loud, Best Christmas Cracker is all about the pets who keep the festive spirit bright and full of joy.
Share the playful, quirky, and downright hilarious side of your furry, feathered, or scaly friend — and show us why they’re the ultimate Christmas cracker!

Cosiest Pet Pic
This class celebrates those irresistibly cute, snug-as-a-bug moments when your pet is completely relaxed and dreaming the day away. Whether they’re curled up in a blanket, basking in a sunbeam, or snoozing in their favourite spot, Cosiest Pet Pic is all about the peaceful, heart-melting side of our furry, feathered, or scaly companions.
Pets have a magical way of turning an ordinary nap into the sweetest scene imaginable — and we want to see it! From funny sleeping positions to the ultimate cosy cuddles, show us how your pet masters the art of relaxation.
Santa’s Little Helper
This class celebrates those moments when your pet is being “helpful” — whether they’re genuinely lending a paw or creating a little holiday havoc! From assisting with daily tasks in their own special way to “supervising” your festive preparations (and maybe causing a bit of mischief), Santa’s Little Helper is all about the pets who love to get involved, no matter the outcome.
We’d love to see your furry, feathered, or scaly friend in action — whether they’re tidying up, unwrapping gifts a bit too early, or simply offering moral support.
