2024 Photo Pet Show winners

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered our photo pet show. We have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing all the entries and finding out about our supporters’ pawsome pets. Not only that but the pet show raised £157 for our animals!

Our judges had a really tough time picking the winners from so many super entries, but after much deliberation, here are the lucky few who will receive a goodie bag. Congratulations!

Cosiest Pet – Kendal

“I rescued Kendal in August, she’s a lovely nearly two year old who loves to be near you for cuddles. She quite often sleeps like this which amuses me every time but makes me love her more because of how cute she is.”

Christmas Cracker – Wilson

“My pets name is wilson and he is 8 years old, and is a lurcher. Wilson should win the christmas cracker class because when he yawns at us he looks likes he is having a right old laugh with us.”

Santa’s Little Helper – Laina

“Laina is our 5 year old Greek harehound who we adopted from a charity called Zante Strays, after she was found in a field with her mum as a puppy. Laina is our little ‘helper’ as she likes to let us know when the bin needs to be emptied- which has inspired one (of many) nicknames for her as ‘bin dipper’.”

We especially loved reading the entries for ‘Winter’s Tail’ and couldn’t decide on just one winner, so there are two winners in this class.

Winter’s Tail – Trixie

“I applied for lots of different dogs from various centres and didn’t hear back or when I did hear back I had been unsuccessful. I was feeling disheartened as I had lots of time and love to give a dog. One day I had an email to ask me if I would like to visit the Animal Shelter. From the moment I saw Pippa (that was her name then) I fell in love with her and knew that she was the dog for me. Trixie has made such a difference to my life. I enjoy getting up and taking her for a walk. She is so adorable, I get chatting to people most days and they say “isn’t your dog lovely”. I don’t feel as anxious any more and even my sleeping has improved. Big thank you to Cheltenham Animal Shelter.”

Winter’s Tail – Pebbles

“Pebbles is our ragdoll cat. She was given to us by Family Fund so that she could be a therapy cat for Izzy. Izzy is autistic and has an anxiety disorder, with sensory challenges, and ADHD. Pebbles is her comfort and just seems to know when Iz needs her support. She’s always by her side on the sofa, or snuggled into her when she’s sad or stressed. Plus she’s really daft and naughty, creating many moments of entertainment for Izzy and the rest of the family. Pebbles has changed Izzy’s life xx”
