This year’s Run Cheltenham event on Sunday 1st September saw a record number of runners raising money for our pets in need.
In total, we had 13 runners in the half marathon, including a team of seven from Tewkesbury based Pro-Bolt, and a further two runners in the 10k, and they all did really well on what was a hot and muggy day.
Between them they have raised almost £4,000 for our animals which is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part or went to cheer them on!
Erica and Alison from our fundraising team were there waving the flag (literally) to show our support and congratulate runners at the finish line. We think everyone looked the part in their #TeamCAS running shirts, and this really added to the camaraderie among those taking part in aid of the Shelter.
It costs over £1m each year to keep our doors open for the hundreds of cats, dogs and small animals who desperately need our help until they find forever homes. We receive no government support so rely entirely on the generosity of our community to keep going. Events like these are a fantastic way for supporters to raise money, have fun, and help spread awareness of our work to others.
