Baguette

He may be named after a famously crusty loaf, but this boy is a softy at heart. Baguette is searching for a quiet home where he can finally relax and enjoy life. He may take a little while to get to know new people, but once you’re in his circle of trust, you’ll be rewarded with a wonderfully affectionate companion. One of his sweetest little habits is gently nudging your hand when he’d like some fuss and reassurance – it’s hard to say no to that face! He also has a playful side and loves a game with his soft toys!!

As a stray, we don’t know what Baguette has experienced before coming into our care, so the world can sometimes feel overwhelming. He’s looking for a patient, understanding family who can help him continue to build his confidence. A quiet home with a secure garden would suit him best. Although he can be a little vocal when he arrives somewhere new, it’s simply his way of letting everyone know he’s taking it all in – he soon settles once he realises there’s nothing to worry about.

Baguette will need to be the only pet in the home, with no neighbouring dogs, as hearing them makes him feel very anxious. He can also be worried by seeing people and dogs on walks, and isn’t shy about voicing his concerns, so he’ll need owners who are happy to support him and take things at his pace. He could live with sensible teenagers aged 16 and over.

We don’t know for sure how he’ll cope being left home alone, but we do know that he finds being left alone in his kennel quite stressful, so he’d be best suited to someone who won’t need to leave him for long periods.

Every great loaf takes time to rise and Baguette is no different. Give him understanding and love, and you’ll have a loyal best friend who’s worth every crumb of patience!
