Please support our Christmas Appeal so we can help more pets in need.

When vulnerable pets come to the Shelter, we do our absolute best for them, but sadly we receive too many requests to help every animal who needs us.

So far this year we have received over 800 requests to take in animals from members of the public, and over 100 stray pets have needed us.

The funds raised from our Christmas Appeal will help us care for more animals and enable us to give each the unique support it needs.

Could you help with a gift of £25 to provide medication for a poorly, homeless pet?

In 2024, did you know?

70

58

100

440

Freddie needed urgent medical care

Freddie the Lurcher, is a sweet boy, who came to us as a stray at the start of the year and is still hoping for his forever home, but he will remain safe and loved in our care until that special day comes.

When Freddie arrived, our vet discovered that he had a serious eye infection. Thankfully, we were able to treat his condition, but he is still having ongoing tests for other issues with his eyes.

Not long after he recovered from his eye infection, his mouth became swollen, and we found a lump under his tongue. We acted quickly and Freddie responded well to treatment and he is back to his playful self.

None of this would have been possible without your donations.

Freddie’s vet appointments, medication and aftercare cost over £1,400, so you can see why we need you with us.

“It’s been tough recently, particularly with so many kittens being born here as well as the adult cats needing us. On one day we had over 50 cats and kittens on-site, which takes a lot of care!”

Delia was abandoned with her kittens

Tragically, many cats and kittens arrive under heartbreaking circumstances. Delia, who is just under two years old, came to us in September with her two kittens, Adam and Lydia.

Shockingly, they were found abandoned in a cat carrier at a local park!

They settled in well and the kittens’ characters are now shining through – little Adam is a cheeky boy with a loud meow and gentle Lydia is the sweetest girl.

Young Delia recently had her spay operation, after which she suffered a bleed, but with prompt intervention she is recovering well so that one day soon she can go to a new home.

A gift of £45 will help cats like Delia and her kittens settle into the Shelter and pay for their health checks and immediate care.
