We are thrilled to announce that the Three Counties Showground has invited Cheltenham Animal Shelter back to host the Rabbit and Guinea Pig Zone at their three-day Autumn Show event from Friday, 27th September to Sunday, 29th September.
Our presence, alongside the Rabbit Association and Welfare Fund (RAWF), marks a significant shift in how country shows can prioritise animal welfare. Traditional rabbit shows have often focused on competition, but a new approach puts the welfare of the animals first, and we are proud to support this vital initiative. Together, we’re setting a new standard for how animals should be showcased at agricultural events, ensuring their well-being is considered first.
Rabbits are one of the most neglected pets in the UK, with around 67,000 ending up in rescues every year. Sadly misunderstood, these adorable pets often don’t receive the proper care they need to live happy, healthy lives. At our zone, you’ll learn about the essentials for keeping rabbits: housing, diet, environment, behaviour, and companionship, that can help ensure they thrive as part of your family.
